Late update...

Sun Sep 13, 2009, 2:09 PM
I had a wonderful summer back at home and am enjoying lithuanian autumn again. This summer I have made a decision to stay a little longer in my home country and use the opportunity to study here. Next month I will start studying graphics at Vilnius Academy of Arts. I feel a great need to improve my skills in drawing and try out some new media as well as change my lifestyle a little.
Thank you for staying with me. :)

Long Update

Sat Oct 11, 2008, 11:25 PM
First I want to apologize to my watchers for not submitting any new works and thank for being so patient to those who are still watching me. I guess I have to explain now what has happened so far since my last update (to those who are interested)...

The reason why I'm not sending my digital drawings is because they are not finished (simple as that :blushes:). I was hopeful to finish some during my summer holiday, but everything I did was resting and drawing new sketches. I know I am pathetic and should be more motivated since I am planning to relate my career with CG art, but for some unknown reason I just can't use my free time efficiently. =( However, I had the best summer ever spending about 3 months back in Lithuania, visiting beautiful places of my country, being with my family, sleeping, and eating a lot of Lithuanian food. :D Of course the best before leaving my home country was going to Bjork concert in Vilnius. Unfortunately, as everything else that is so good these three months didn't last forever...

My second year at the university started in the end of August. This semester I'm taking Painting II, Drawing II, Digital Art Basics (since I don't know enough about Photoshop), American History (last semester it was a real pain, but now it seems just fine due to a better professor), and 20th Century Art (interesting, but should have started from studying earlier art for better understanding). Our painting and drawing professor (=advisor) disappeared this semester, so she was replaced by a younger and more ambitious one from another state. She's very into abstraction and modern art, which is quite interesting since her teaching methods are totaly diferrent from our previous professor's. I'm taking less credits this time, but I get to sleep more :w00t: (except before exams ^^;). Anyway, my grades are quite good so far, and I'm learning lots of useful stuff. However, I have that bad feeling that next semester is going to be the opposite of this one (because time-consuming courses like American literature, speech, and art crafts are still waiting to be taken). :worry:

Right now I have a short fall break, but there are just too many things to do for my studies so I'm not sure when I'm going to finish my drawings. I feel so overwhelmed at the moment, and it's already past midnight...
Thanks for your attention and sorry for disappointing you (I'll try to do my best in creating art, but I'm not sure if you'll see the results very often). Well, I should me more positive about myself and stop complaining already.
And you be positive about yourself as well (in case you lack self-confidence like me).
Keep creating and being happy! :)

AT LAST!!!

Wed Apr 30, 2008, 1:29 PM
I can’t believe my first year at college is already over… :wow: Now I’m extremely happy!!! :D The second semester was much harder and more challenging, but somehow I managed to finish it. :phew: I learned and experienced so much during this time. Yeah, and I’m still alive after all of this… :w00t:

Too bad I had very little time to practice digital drawing. But instead I had a chance to paint (I mean traditional painting). :painter: That was something new for me. I have never painted in acrylics before and also on canvas. Maybe later I’ll submit some works from my painting course. And now that I have so much free time, I really have to finish some of my digital works and create new ones as well. I'm really excited about that since I’ve been waiting for this for so long! And one more thing I am especially happy about is that soon I’ll be back in my country (I missed it so much). I’ll spend most of my holidays there. :excited:

That’s all from me. Thanks for your attention and for those who still remember me. :thanks: And most of all thank you for your support! :glomp:

Update :)

Tue Dec 25, 2007, 1:38 AM
Hi again! It was a really long time since my last journal. ^^; It's about time for some news from me! :D Things are so different here in the States from where I used to live before, but I am already used to (almost) everything. Wow! :wow: Time is going sooo fast! The first semester at my University has successfully ended. :w00t: This semester was really intense and challenging as it was my first time studying at the university. However, I somehow managed to study well even in a foreign language. I've learned so many new things during these few months and improved my drawing skills a little (though this is a long long process of learning).
Next semester is going to start in the middle of January, so I still have some time to rest. At last I managed to submit some of my old drawings!!! :phew: Recently I've started some new drawings. However, my drawing process is still very slow because of lack of practice and confidence. :worry: I really need more practice in digital drawing and that requires a lot of time as I'm learning by myself.
Thank you so much for reading my journal. Special thanks goes to all who supported my art. I appreciate your support!
Have the most wonderful and enjoyable holiday time everyone!!! :xmas:
Best wishes from Alina :aww:

Some news from me!

Thu Sep 6, 2007, 9:03 PM
Hi everyone! Things are going quite well and I'm getting more and more used to my new life at the new place. My studies have already started and I have some assignments to do. But I hope that soon (maybe next week) I'll be able to submit at least one of my drawings (though I'm not so sure about it :worry:).
I want to thank everyone who supports my gallery and for those who take a moment to visit it! I try to answer all of your comments to express my appreciation as well as visit your galleries too because there are so many great artists here that are worth attention and support...

Wow! :wow: I'm here (in DA) only a month and somebody has already tagged me! Well... I should say thanks to :iconadval: for tagging me and give it a try! Anyway, it was about time to update my journal and this a great opportunity for you to learn a little more about me. :aww:

The rules:
1. Each person tagged must post 8 random (hopefully interesting) facts about themselves.
2. Tags should be in a journal/blog.
3. At the end of the post 8 more people are to be tagged and named.
4. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.

And here are 8 random facts about me :excited::

1. I found out about DeviantArt a long time ago (hmm... at least 5 years) but waited and joined only a month ago (I wanted to join only then, when I would really have what to show to people).
2. I always loved DRAWING but started to draw with Adobe Photoshop only 2 years ago. I'll need a lot of time to improve my drawing skills but I'm determined because I  digital art!
3. I can't live a day without a CHOCOLATE (not very healthy but I just can't resist)! My favorite is a milk chocolate (with caramel filling)!
4. I love STUDIO GHIBLI films! Watched quite many of them but still want see more and more. My most favorite is "Spirited away" (sooo magical...).
5. I also enjoy watching JDORAMAS (Japanese dramas). The first drama I saw was Gokusen2 which is really funny. :giggle:
6. I like reading MANGA. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to let myself enjoy this pleasure. But I'd really like to finish reading "Death Note" (love the drawing style and the plot)! The latest one I read was "Backstage Prince" (by Kanoko Sakurakoji).
7. I like BIRDS very much and taking photos of them. Also sometimes I like to whistle like a bird :music: (yeah, I'm quite strange :blushes:, but don't worry I don't do that in public)...
8. I'm very self-critical when it comes to evaluating my works. I couldn't submit an unfinished drawing because I like when everything is finished, however I'm very mad on myself that I can't finish the drawings that I started quite long ago but didn't manage to complete due to the studies at school. :x But... I really hope that now (when I finished school) I'll be more productive. That's why I've joined DA! :)

I thought it will be quite difficult to think of 8 (interesting) facts about me, but that wasn't hard at all (though it took some time). I don't know how much interesting/boring this was for you but I tried my best... I wonder if I should follow the rules and tag other 8 people...I don't want anyone to get angry on me because of it but... ^^;

O.K. So here are 8 more people who will be tagged (no, it's not that I wouldn't like them, but because I (together with other DA members) would like to learn something interesting and to make them update their journals too ;)):

:iconisplastiko: :iconst-maria: :iconprincess-mia62: :iconfio: :iconmomo-pup: :iconfrittiliary: :iconbermud: :iconbillyjeaaan:

(I'm really sorry guys if that's not the first time you're being tagged and if it really annoys you but you are not forced to do it and waste your time...) Here's a , :glomp:, :cuddle:, and :blowkiss: for you and  for those who will write something interesting about them!

So, bye for now! By the way, thanks for those who spent their precious time reading my journal! :thanks: :D
